Objekt File se používá k vrácení informací o zadaném souboru.
Chcete-li pracovat s vlastnostmi a metodami objektu File, budete muset vytvořit instanci objektu File prostřednictvím objektu FileSystemObject. Za prvé; vytvořte objekt FileSystemObject a potom vytvořte instanci objektu File pomocí metody GetFile objektu FileSystemObject nebo prostřednictvím vlastnosti Files objektu Folder.
Následující kód používá metodu GetFile objektu FileSystemObject k vytvoření instance objektu File a vlastnost DateCreated k vrácení data, kdy byl zadaný soubor vytvořen:
